Ronald Zielinski, 74, passed away on December 26, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born January 10, 1943, to the late Leo and Helen (Nakoski) Zielinski.

Ronald served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Ronald was a captain. He owned Captain Ron’s Quarters. He started his commercial fishing career on the “Suzanne G,” which he later purchased. He also purchased “Henry N” then operated the “Jo Ann M.” Ronald operated until his retirement. He also enjoyed animals and was very family oriented.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 12 years, Clearistine “Tena” (McIntosh) Zielinski, his two sons, Thomas Zielinski of Denton, TX., and Christopher Zielinski of Erie, PA., his sister, Dorothy Snider and brother, Donald Zielinski (Diane), both of Erie, several step children, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two good friends; Carl Woodard and James Rosezak, both of Erie.

Besides his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by his sister, Jo Ann Heath and brother, Lawrence Zielinski.

Relatives and friends are invited at the Edward J. Garr Funeral Home, Inc., 459 East 12th Street, Erie, PA 16503, on Tuesday January 2, 2018 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. Services will be at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30 am with the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Stanislaus Church. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery with full military honors. So sorry to hear of Ronnie's passing. He was such a great friend for so many years. He will be sadly missed.
