Florence Kowalski Urbaniak, 93, formerly of Erie, passed away on December 21, 2017 in Dayton, Ohio. She was born in Erie on July 25, 1924, daughter of the late William and Helen Zdunski Kowalski.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Edward S. Urbaniak and one brother, Raymond G. King.

Florence was a founding member of St. Luke’s Parish, served on St. Luke’s Rosary Altar Society, volunteered at St. Luke’s Mercy Center for aging and was a past PTA President. She also worked as a secretary at the Veteran’s Affairs office and worked for Erie Insurance. She enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include three sons, Doug Urbaniak (Pat) of Maricopa, AZ., Steve Urbaniak of Allentown, PA., and Jack Urbaniak (Donna) of Bellbrook, OH., five grandchildren, Matthew Urbaniak (Jessica), Jennifer Urbaniak, Jeffrey Urbaniak (Savannah), Kaitlyn and Kevin Urbaniak. In addition, she is also survived by one great grandchild, Liam Urbaniak.

Relatives and friends may call at the Edward J. Garr Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

Services will be at the funeral home Thursday at 9:15 am, followed by a Funeral mass at St. Luke’s Church at 10:00 am. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
