Marie Esther Hoy Buczynski, 80, of Erie went to the angels on February 1, 2018. She was born in Erie on July 27, 1937 daughter of the late Casper Vincent and Marie Eva Rung Hoy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Casper Hoy, James Hoy, and Eileen Niebauer, and one nephew, Mark Hoy.

Marie is survived by “The love of her life,” her loving husband of 58 years, Joseph Buczynski, who gave her, her prides of joy, four children; Linda M. Buczynski (coffee chat) of Boise, Idaho, Genevieve Buczynski (Texas Twister) and husband Jacques St-Laurent of Krum, TX, Lisa Lindquist (her getaway driver) and husband Clint of Lawrence Park, Joe Buczynski (number one son) and wife Bonnie of Harborcreek.

In addition, she is survived by her “sweetie pies,” her grandchildren: Scott (Alisa) Lindquist of Harborcreek, Steven Lindquist of Erie, Danielle Kujan (fellow museum explorer and Frammie’s Polish Princess) of Austin, TX, and Joey and Logan Buczynski of Harborcreek.

She was enchanted by her two great-grandchildren Trevor and Mollie Lindquist of Harborcreek, and a very dear and special friend and sister, Colleen Jones (two peas in a pod) and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Marie will always be well loved by a seemingly endless tide of friends and relatives. She was considered a confidante and sage advisor by all. Her open hearted and open armed philosophy for extended family is legend, and she possessed the patience of a monk and the wrath of Khan.

In younger days, Marie was a top notch bowler at St. Mary’s Club and the Mom’s Club leader at St. Stanislaus Church. She valued her memberships to the Mermaid Club and Red “Hat” Society. In retirement she traveled cross country with her beloved husband as a gypsy companion and traveler.

The family would like to send a special thanks to Brevellier Village nurses and staff for taking such good care of their mom and wife Marie and loving her like family and making her feel so comfortable in her home.
