Tina Marie Potter Strieder, 50, of Erie, passed away at home peacefully, surrounded by her family, on September 24th, 2018 after a brave battle with breast cancer. She was born on December 17, 1967, daughter of Frank Potter and Barbara Stucka Potter, both of Erie.

Tina was a 1986 graduate of Central Tech High School after attending St. James School in Erie. Over the course of a 28-year career in healthcare she supported and loved countless individuals. She was proud to be a mother, grandmother, and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Her family will be lost without her to turn to, to talk to, as a pillar of unconditional strength. Tina was a cheerleader and defender for anyone in need. When her family thinks of her, they will imagine her contagious laughter and her holding tight to her grandson Jonah. They will think of her every time they see a candy bar, donut, or ice cream because her sweet tooth was as big as she was. To the end she put others before herself, and for that everywhere she went she saw someone who was happy to see her. With everyone whose path she crossed, her smile and positive attitude will live on. In her own well-known words, “hippy kia!”

Survivors include her parents, Frank and Barbara Potter; husband John Strieder; daughter Amanda Potter; daughter Jessica Strieder Andreone (Nicholas Andreone); son Ryan Strieder; grandson Jonah Strieder; sister Melissa Potter Schnars (Raymond Schnars); sister Cynthia Potter Moyak; sister Pamela Potter Peters (Reuben Peters); and her brother Frank Potter Jr. (Angela McKinney Potter); She will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A private service for family will be led by Father Patrick McCormick at the Edward J. Garr Funeral Home Inc., 459 East 12th Street, Erie PA 16503 at 1:00 PM on Friday September 28, 2018. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation. Please send condolences to garrdavisfuneralhome.com.
