Rev. Floyd R. Lewis, Jr., age 82, of Erie, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021 at UPMC Hamot. He was born in Memphis, TN on March 10, 1938 to the late Floyd and Albertha (Smith) Lewis, Sr.
Floyd served in the Air Force, participated in the Kairos Prison Ministry, was a counselor at the Erie OIC and helped form and operated the Joel II Restoration Outreach food and clothing ministry that helped feed local families in need. He was also a recipient of the President’s Call to Service Award and was a member of Grace Fellowship Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sons Michael Lewis and Floyd R. (Ron) Lewis, III.
Floyd is survived by sons Staffon Lewis and Tyrell Eddy, daughters Cathi Lewis, Kasheaba Eddy, Shanitka Eddy, stepson Shad Todd, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, two sisters, and his former wife of 25 years, Jillane Lewis
Following all current Covid-19 guidelines, visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 4:00 pm until the time of the service at 7:00 pm at Edward J. Garr Funeral Home, 459 E. 12th St. Erie, PA 16503.
