Walter John Druzak, 82, passed from this life to the next on February 29, 2020. He was born on June 25, 1937, in Erie, to the late Walter and Jenny (Lach) Draszkiewicz (Druzak).
John a/k/a "Sonny" attended Prep and East High School. He served in the Air Force and the Reserve Marine Corps and National Guard. He worked at Erie City Ironworks, Lord Mfg. and retired after 25 years from General Electric. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying his boats, ATVs and hunting camp near Tidioute. After retirement, he did some volunteer work, did wood crafts with his wife and bowled on a Senior League.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Raymond and Ronald and his sister Diane Simon, also grandson David Sutton and sister Kimmy Sutton Mohika and stepdaughter Bonnie McElhenie Root.
He is survived by his sister Patricia Krysiak and brother Richard Draszkiewicz, also his wife of almost 39 years Eileen Byers Druzak. He was the beloved father of Gregory, Cindi Pollock (Dan), and Denise Ecke (Ernie) and his stepchildren Sharon McElhenie Colley (Richard) and Steven McElhenie. He was "grandpa" to his 17 combined grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his mother-in-law Mildred Byers of Erie. He will be greatly missed by his many relatives and friends.

Per his wishes, a memorial visitation time will be held on Saturday, March 7th at Holy Rosary Church from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass. Private burial will be at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery, at the convenience of the family.
